ABSTRACT

The study aims to determine and to know the development the soundness of BPR in Makassar in 2008 and 2009. The assessment used in this study consisted of quantitative assessment of CAR, KAP, PPAP, ROA, BOPO, Cash Ratio, and LDR, while the qualitative assessment is used in assesing BPR of general management and risk management with quisioner.

The samples consist of four BPR in the city of Makassar those BPR are PD. BPR Kota Tk. II Ujung Pandang, PT. BPR Batara Wajo, PT.BPR Hasa Mitra, and PT. BPR Tabungan Rakyat. Based on research results in 2008, the soundness of each bank is Fair, Fair, Satisfication, Fair. Meanwhile, in 2009 obtained the soundness of each BPR are Satisfication, Fair, Satisfication, and Marginal. While the development of soundness BPR in 2008 and 2009 in Makassar on the value of CAMEL aspects are of BPR both are Fair.
